College Budgeting 101: Save Money & Enjoy Campus Life
Learning about college budgeting could help you save a great deal of money. While the college years can be a fun time of life, this does not necessarily mean you have to forget about saving. Here are some suggestions about how to save money while in college.
Student Discounts
As a student, one of the best tools that you have to help save money is the student discount. You should be able to get a nice discount at a number of different places because you are a student. This is usually true with many businesses surrounding the college area. You can get discounted movie tickets and sometimes meals and get into entertainment establishments with less of a cover charge.
Resident Assistants
Another way that you can save a significant amount of money while in college is to be a resident assistant. This will allow you to live in the dorms at a major discount or possibly even for free in return for a little bit of work. You can oversee the floor that you live on and get to know all of your neighbors at the same time.
Travel
By combining schoolwork with pleasure, you could get yourself a nice vacation. You might be able to attend a research trip or conference with the school paying for it. This will allow you to take advantage of free travel and accommodations.
