Budget-Friendly Stocking Stuffer Ideas: 100+ Gifts They'll Love

Opening stockings are my favorite part of Christmas morning. There are always unique gifts in stockings that make Christmas so special. Kelan and I open stockings first thing in the morning before presents.
Our stockings are larger than the normal size to fit more stocking stuffers. We can’t help but spoil one another during the Christmas season because we are so frugal throughout the year.
When looking to purchase stocking stuffers, there are so many places with unique items for all the members of your family. Some of my favorite places include Five Below, Target, Walmart, and Amazon. I do not know how I ever completed my holiday shopping without Amazon Prime in years past.
Prime makes shopping a breeze throughout the entire year. It is definitely worth its weight in gold around the holiday season. You can sign-up here for Amazon Prime and get all the incredible benefits.
The link prices below are subject to change as Amazon updates and change their prices throughout the holiday season. The list below is a great list to search for items online or in stores to get those stocking filled at a savvy price.
Happy shopping!
Stocking Stuffers Under $3.00
Children
Socks
Have you ever met a little kid that doesn’t outgrow socks basically every year? Have you ever met a husband who doesn’t wear holes in his socks on a nearly yearly basis?
Rubber Duck
Even adults love a good rubber duck…and if they don’t, then hopefully they have a dog who would appreciate a regifted Christmas present!
Play-Doh
In my opinion, no toy has stood the test of time as well as Play-Doh…it’s been essentially unchanged for forever! This is a great stocking stuffer for all ages since it gets the family together. Buy just 1 or 2 colors for each person in the family, so that everyone has to work together to get all the colors they want!
Organic Lollipops
Kids love candy, it’s an obvious fact. But what exactly goes into it? Put your mind at ease while they indulge their sweet tooth with these organic lollipops! A stocking without candy, after all, is no Christmas stocking after all!
Board Books
Board books are PERFECT stocking stuffer gifts for any younger children. You can give them to babies and they won’t get totally destroyed as paper pages will. Once your child learns to read, they can still be put to use as early readers! They’ll last as long as your kids are interested in them, which should be a good while!
Teens
Chapstick
Where we live, winter and chapped lips go together like peanut butter and jelly! But who can ever keep track of their tube of chapstick?? Help your teens keep their lips from cracking with a very useful stocking stuffer gift (or skip it to keep their lips cracked and dry so they aren’t kissing people…like new boyfriends…) 😉
Colored Pens
Pair these with an adult coloring book for a unique and relaxing stocking stuffer idea for teens!
Lanyard
Are you kids getting ready to drive? They’re going to need to keep track of those keys! If you’re feeling generous, you could upgrade to their favorite sports team pattern.
Gum
Teenagers always seem to have gum in their mouths. Christmas is a great time to help them restock their stash, and this might just top the cheap stocking stuffer ideas list!
Women
Bath Bomb
Are you considering this gift for the moms in your life? Stop considering and just buy it. Then go make her a coupon for free babysitting so she actually has the chance to use it!
Nail Polish
A manicure at a salon might be a little better of a big gift to some moms, but finding the time to use it can be tricky when kids and babysitting are involved. Get her something nice for her stocking stuffer gift (and maybe a nail/manicure kit to go with it) and let her give herself a home manicure. It’s better than nothing!
Magazine
Whether digital or paper, magazine subscriptions are still going strong. Did you know that you can purchase magazine subscriptions on Amazon and often at a discount?
Chocolate
This one is just a no-brainer since it’s a Christmas stocking stuffer idea for everyone! For mom, just make sure to skip the Hershey’s and spring for the fancier stuff!
Men
Keychain
Dads especially are notorious for never knowing where their keys are. Get them a nice, worthy-of-display keychain and maybe just maybe they’ll look at it often enough to remember where they left them!
Lottery Ticket
This is a great idea to either meet the minimum requirement of giving a stocking stuffer, or it might be worth a heck of a lot more than a simple time-killer, haha!
Car Air Freshener
Does his car need a good cleaning? Are stocking stuffers useful (for sending messages)? Maybe this will help him get the hint (and save your nose while riding with him)!
Candy
Grab a few of his favorite candy bars or a bag of mixed goodies and either way I bet he’ll be thrilled you did!
Stocking Stuffers Under $5.00
Children
Coloring/ Activity Book
Kids are always either asking you to play with them or telling you how bored they are. You can solve both problems in one step, plus get them out of your hair while you get ready for your holiday dinner!
Bathtub Crayons
Where were these when I was a kid? Finally, a chance to draw on the walls and NOT get yelled at!!!
Uno Card Game
Another absolutely classic toy/game that I truly believe every kid NEEDS in their lives! I love Uno for younger kids because it’s one of the simplest games out there, but just a little bit more exciting than “Go Fish!”
Lego Set
Boys and girls alike will be entertained for hours with just a few good Lego sets! Even the smaller kits that are designed to make just 2-3 different figures are a great idea!
Emoji Pillow
Even if they aren’t old enough to understand what emojis are, I bet most every little kid would like a big smiley face pillow!
Teens
Earbuds
Let them enjoy their music that you hate, but in a way that you love!
Flash Drive
Nowadays it seems like everything is computer-based. This is a great gift to help them get schoolwork done more efficiently, and it’s a perfect gift for college kids!
Body Spray
Teenagers and puberty don’t always mix well, and sometimes deodorant just doesn’t fully cut it (admit it, you know a kid or two like this). Help them out in a subtle way!
Smart Phone Texting Gloves
Kids and teens ALWAYS fight about wearing gloves, especially once they get to texting age. Make your stocking stuffers useful and get these gloves to make a happy compromise between speedy thumbs and nagging moms!
Women
Soy Candle
With a cleaner burn and more natural ingredients, these are a nice cheap stocking stuffer option for mom to get a little more relaxation in her day.
Face Mask
Give your wife the spa treatment at home with a rejuvenating face mask for her stocking stuffer!
Hanging Shower Travel Organizer
This is a perfect gift for working moms that are on the go often or families that do a lot of travel.
Lavender Oil
Essential oils are amazing for the nearly infinite uses they have! Lavender is especially good for busy wives and moms for its soothing and relaxing properties.
Baking Cups
I know this sounds crazy to some, but there really are moms out there who have a thing for collecting fancy, patterned baking cups because the standard solid colored ones just don’t do it! Help build her collection and see her smile when she opens them!
Men
Beef Jerky
Men and beef jerky are like two peas in a pod, I swear. It’s weird but true!
Tie
A classic and maybe overdone gift, but it’s both affordable and an easy option to get even the youngest kids involved in gifting in an easy way — just have them pick out the pattern for this stocking stuffer and you’re all set!
Gear Ties
Ok, these are just cool, I don’t care who you are. They’re so handy for so many uses, from replacing twist-ties and rubber bands to making a quick keychain in a pinch!
Blender Bottle
Does your guy like to have protein shakes or smoothies sometimes? Having a blender bottle is a must-have in your kitchen, so he can keep his smoothies smooth and his protein shakes from getting chunky!
Working Hands Hand Cream
Why does it seem like men don’t like putting on lotion when they have dry hands? This stuff works so fast and so well, they’ll only need it once a day to see a difference. They’ll have relief from dry winter hands, and the privacy of only using it during their bedtime routine if needed!
Stocking Stuffers Under $10.00
Children
VTech Turn and Learn Driver
Ok, so you’ll need a slightly larger stocking for this stocking stuffer idea for toddlers. But seriously kids have loved pretending to drive from the backseat basically since the dawn of time! (Ok, an exaggeration, but you know babies and toddlers love pretending to drive!)
Travel Spirograph Playset
I always loved the mesmerizing patterns you could make with Spirograph, and this set is travel-sized to give your kids some seriously good distractions on long car trips! Perfect for holiday travels!
Anti-Slip Socks/Slippers
Little kids are clumsy, so once they reach the age where they’re refusing to hold your hand, anti-slip socks are a must.
Pick-Up Sticks
Another classic game that’s still going strong! Even if your kids are too young to truly follow the rules, kids oddly love dropping things and picking them back up so it’s a win either way!
Puzzle Cube
This is both fun and educational stocking stuffer idea for younger kids. They’ll be learning about spatial relationships without even realizing it!
Teens
Cell Phone PopSocket
OMG, these things are going CRAZY these days. There are SO many options, I couldn’t even begin to narrow it down. They even make them with swappable covers now!
Bananagrams
Sure, it’s an old-fashioned game. But it’s still a fun time and a good way for them to practice vocabulary before taking the SAT!
Hair Chalk
Be ready for next Halloween super early, or just finally quiet the teen who keeps begging you to let them dye their hair! They can try it out for a while without the commitment (or price) of a real coloring job.
Adult Coloring Book
This is an especially great gift for the artistic teens you’re shopping for! Even though the pictures aren’t their own original work, they can still make it super unique with how they color it, what medium they use, and more!
Colored Pencils
Pairs great with the adult coloring book! Consider springing for a true artist’s set of pencils if your child has a true talent.
Women
Scarf/Shawl
I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as “too many scarves.” Blanket shawls are amazing too!
Invisibobble Hair Ring
Ok, so these little things look super silly, but they work SO well! It’s really insane — I didn’t believe it myself until I tried them!
S Hooks
Whether for hanging pots and pans in the kitchen, hanging purses on a closet rack, or hanging those new scarves you just gave her, a mom can ALWAYS find a good use for these!
K-Cup Cleaning Pods
Make it easier to clean out the coffee maker with these cleaning pods! They’re great for both regular maintenance of the machine and for switching between beverage types to avoid cross-over flavors.
Cell Phone Holder/Wallet
It’s hard being a woman and carrying a purse. It’s full of everything you need to be prepared for everything, but also too full of stuff you aren’t always using! Give her a chance to run in a store with JUST what she needs, even if she’s wearing leggings and has no pockets, with this perfect stocking stuffer for women!
Men
Beer Savers
Ok, these are just plain smart. Perfect for enjoying a cold one while grilling, but keeping the bugs out!
Razor
Does your guy go through disposable razors like crazy? Consider getting him a more robust razor with replacement blades, or a power razor!
Golf Balls
Does he golf? Then there’s no chance that he WON’T want some extra golf balls. Just make sure you get him “his” brand!
Workout Exercise Arm Phone Holder
As a family that loves working out, we definitely need these! I have workout leggings with a snug phone pocket, but cell phones ALWAYS seem to fall out of guys’ gym shorts when they’re moving around too much! These are great for runners, to keep headphone cables out the way as well.
Universal Socket
Ok, I’ll admit it, this thing is pretty cool. It’s a great long-term frugal gift too because now you don’t need to let him buy the socket set(s) he’s had his eyes on either!
Stocking Stuffers Under $15.00
Children
The Fidget Cube
Move over, fidget spinners…there’s a new distraction in town!
Water Beads
These are such cool little things — use them for kids to have indoor “water” fun, and if they lose interest or outgrow them, use them to hydrate flower arrangements with style!
Shape and Color Sorter
Perfect for those littlest hands that need to start working on learning colors and shapes! Even as kids age, you can work on so many skills with them with one of these toys!
Giraffe Plush Rattle
It’s a rattle, it’s silky, it’s a new best friend. Perfect for either upcoming or brand new additions to your family!
Teens
Printed Leggings
The days of graphic T’s may be numbered, with the popularity of printed leggings steadily climbing!
Self-Tanner
Teen girls always complain about being pale in winter and might risk overcompensating by over-tanning in summer. Skip the skin cancer risk and let them have their beachy-glow!
iPad/Tablet Cover
Does your teen have their own tablet? Help them learn how to protect their belongings with a new cover (and case?).
Stud Earrings
Stud earrings are always a good gift for how many options and styles there are, but they likely won’t be in the way for day-to-day activities, sports activities, and sleeping!
Necklace
Pair some new stud earrings with a nice (matching) necklace to round out the look!
Women
A Dogs Purpose
Moms love sappy stories. Give her this, a bottle of wine, and a box of tissues for a complete movie night stocking stuffer!
Wine Stopper and Vacuum
If you’ve got a wino in your life, then these are the perfect addition to her collection!
Apron
If your wife/mom is always in the kitchen, do her a favor and help her keep her clothes from getting messy! It’s amazing now common these were in our grandmothers’ kitchens and how rare they are nowadays!
Mustache Drink Stickers
Even stressed out, uptight moms like a laugh once in a while. Give her one with these funny stickers!
Men
Meat Thermometer
Got a grill-master in your life? Make sure he’s cooking those steaks to just the perfect temperature!
Keychain Flashlight
Even though nearly everyone has a cellphone with a flashlight built in, it’s honestly still worth having a separate small light for emergencies! This is a great size to fit in a car glove box.
Wall Mounted Bottle Opener
The perfect stocking stuffer idea for the man cave or the wet bar!
Leather Passport Cover
A stocking stuffer idea for guys who do a lot of travel, keeping his passport protected is a smart move. Pair it with a new leather wallet to update his look!
Leather Belt
There’s nothing worse than having a worn-through belt fail on you. Make sure there won’t be any wardrobe mishaps in your guy’s future.
Stocking Stuffers Under $20.00
Children
Soft Bibs
What makes these bibs a serious upgrade from “standard” cloth bibs is the built-in mess catcher. Other bibs may keep shirts clean, but what about pants??? Maybe consider putting this stocking stuffer idea in the parents’ stocking instead of the kid’s!
Minecraft Animal Toy (6 pack)
Perfect for the littlest video game lovers in your family!
RC Helicopter
Take the remote-controlled vehicle game to the next level in your house! Far more cool than a car, but less dangerous than an actual drone!
Moana
Seriously, I haven’t met anyone who didn’t love this movie. A perfect stocking stuffer gift for both the real kids AND the “kids at heart” on your list!
Teens
Eyeshadow Pallet
The teen years are all about trying new looks to “find yourself.” Give them the freedom to try something new, in a convenient pre-made set!
Regal Entertainment Gift Card
While adults may definitely prefer the comfort of their couches to watch movies, teenagers always seem to prefer the experience more than the convenience! Give them a stocking stuffer gift they’ll actually use!
Washi Tape
I love this stuff! So much fun to make journals, planners, picture frames, and just about anything customized to your own look!
Indoor/Outdoor Fur Lined Clog Slippers
Teens are all about comfort. And not tying shoes, oddly. Make them happy with warm but easy footwear!
Wireless Bluetooth Speaker
If you’re considering this stocking stuffer idea for your teen, it’s pretty amazing that you made it this long without getting one!
Women
Starbucks Gift Card
You know I’m all about some Starbucks when I can get it. This is a great stocking stuffer idea for women because I know I’m not the only one!
If you’re feeling super frugal and not shy about it, check out ways to get free Starbucks gift cards!

For the workout fanatic in your life, this workout aid might be just the stocking stuffer idea for women you need to let her get the results she wants in less time!
Oil Diffuser
Pair this stocking stuff idea with the Lavender oil linked above for a relaxation bundle!
Patchwork T-Shirt
It’s comfy, it’s stylish, and it’s affordable. What’s not to love with this stocking stuffer idea for women?
Five Crowns and WordSpiel Card Games
When I was a kid, someone would always get a new game for Christmas so that we could play a family game after dinner. This is a neat way to incorporate that tradition into adulthood, but as a stocking stuffer sized gift!
Men
Amazon Gift Card
Men are hard to shop for, it’s just a fact, making this stocking stuffer idea for men just about the BEST option of all — just let them get their own stocking stuffers!
Sunglasses
Whether he just needs a backup pair that lives in the car or he’s in the market for an entirely new pair, sunglasses make a great stocking stuffer gift idea, especially if you live in a more tropical, sunny climate!
Cards Against Humanities
This is one of those games that’s borderline horrible, but SO funny at the same time. Like, you honestly feel like a terrible human being sometimes while playing it! That said, it’s a great stocking stuffer for the hours of (adult) entertainment it can provide after the kids are in bed!
Whiskey Stones
Keep drinks cool, without watering them down. The perfect stocking stuffer idea for the avid bartender in your life!
Lifestraw
This is another seriously cool invention. Rather than carrying around heavy water-filled bottles on a long hike, you can just take this little straw device instead and drink from freshwater streams along your path! This is a stocking stuffer idea for everyone, especially for the active, outdoorsy family!
Who doesn’t love shopping for Christmas presents? All year I keep an eye out for clearance items or sale items for stockings. One word of advice: stocking stuffers should be practical.
Do not waste your money on items that will not be utilized by the recipient. Think about if someone was gifting that gift to you, would you use it? Would it sit in a drawer or a closet and never get used?
Make sure you are putting your money into useful items for the recipient. They will appreciate the gift much more!
