Insurance Broker Obligations: Understanding Your Rights & Responsibilities
An insurance broker has several obligations to her clients. She has to help explain each policy that she is trying to sell to the best of her ability. She also has to avoid misrepresenting any information about an insurance policy or an insurance company. The broker has to utilize the highest standards when engaging in business transactions, and she has to put the needs of her customers ahead of anything else. She does not have any obligation to a particular insurance company, so her role is to work for her client only. Insurance brokers are required to adhere to high ethical standards throughout the process.
