Monacoin Mining Guide: Hardware, Algorithm & Resources
Monacoin (MONA), Japan’s first digital currency, was created in December 2013. The Monacoin community is Japan’s most active digital currency community.
Monacoin is mined via Proof of Work under the Lyra2REv2 algorithm.
Feel free to check out the official website and block explorer to get more familiar with Monacoin before continuing. You can also find a summary of Monacoin metrics and other resources on our Monacoin page.
1. Obtain suitable hardware
✅ Monacoin can be efficiently mined with ASIC mining machines.
❌ Monacoin cannot be efficiently mined with CPU or GPU cards.
View our Miners page to discover the most profitable ASIC machines for Monacoin mining.
2. Obtain a wallet address
A Monacoin wallet address is required for you to receive and monitor your mining revenue. f2pool distributes mining revenues on a daily basis to every user who reaches the payout threshold, which is 10 MONA. f2pool’s payout scheme is 4% PPS.
If you do not yet have an Monacoin address, you’ll need to get one from the wallet list on Monacoin’s official website. You can also choose an exchange, such as Bitbank or Zaif. Note: You should always do your own due diligence when choosing a wallet provider or exchange.
3. Configure your mining device
Your miner must be connected to the f2pool server listed below for your hashrate and revenue to be recorded and monitored.
You’ll need to enter the following information in your mining device:
URL: stratum+tcp://mona.f2pool.com:20593
Username: walletAddress.workerName
Password: Your choice
Please note
workerName is optional, but we recommend labeling each of your mining devices with a separate workerName for more efficient monitoring.
4. Add payout address
You’ll need to register a payout address to collect your mining revenue. You can add or change your payout address in your Payout Settings. f2pool distributes mining revenues on a daily basis to every user who reaches the payout threshold.
4. Start mining today!
Your machines are now ready to mine!
As long as you’re submitting your hashrate successfully, you will receive payouts from f2pool.
To view your real-time Monacoin payout records, visit the f2pool website and click the 🔍 icon in the top-right corner, select MONA, enter your wallet address, and click Go.
