CME Group Announces Bitcoin Futures Trading Launch
On Oct. 31st it was announced that the CME group plans to offer Bitcoin futures trading. The CME group operates a popular global exchange for options and futures trading.[1]
In other words, Bitcoin future trading is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2017 on a more traditional stock exchange for the first time (pending all relevant regulatory review periods).
This news contributed to Bitcoin’s recent rise in value, as did the upcoming Segwit2x fork.

FACT: Price data will be taken from bitcoin exchanges and trading platforms including Bitstamp, GDAX, itBit and Kraken. Bitcoin futures are currently traded on the BitMEX derivatives exchange and elsewhere.
