Insulate a Room From the Inside

Trying to keep the cold weather out, and the hot weather out, has come to interior methods of insulation. People have to move a lot sometimes and we need ways to insulate our home or specific rooms, from the heat of summer and from the cold of winter. These are ways to save money on heating and air conditioning.

Step 1

First, when you move into an apartment and find out when the seasons change to fall and winter that you have 'cold' rooms, you need to insulate those rooms to save on heating. These methods also save on air conditioning to keep the heat or the air inside your apartment or home!! When you find you have cold uninsulated outside walls where you rent, and will eventually move, put in floor to ceiling foam insulation boards on these specific walls. Gently tack them to your walls at four corners so you can remove them whenever you decide to move.

Step 2

Second, Put up cheap curtain rods all the way across that specific wall over top of the insulation boards. Next, Hang floor to ceiling insulated curtains over that entire wall. This is a great insulation method on the inside of your home.

Step 3

Third, if you have any patio doors or uninsulated windows, hang the insulated curtains over these doors and windows. This keeps the heat of summer out, and the cold of winter out!!!!! Anything that will save on your air conditioning and heating bills is great!!! And remember, when you leave these rented spaces, you can take it all with you if you decide to rent another space and put them up next time where you might have "cold" rooms, windows, or patio doors!

Tip

Remember you don't see the insulation boards, they are completely covered up by the insulated curtains. Hanging insulated curtains on walls without the boards will help make a room cozier. You can staple thick fabric to walls instead of wallpaper and this will also help insulate a room.
