Quickly Fund Your PayPal Account: Methods & Instant Options
Aside from a friend or buyer sending money to your PayPal account, PayPal has two primary methods for adding money to your account. You can opt to transfer money from your bank account or add money from the Green Dot MoneyPak. Funds will not appear instantly if you transfer them from your bank account, but if you use the Green Dot MoneyPak, they appear immediately. You must first purchase a MoneyPak from a retailer and load the card with cash before transferring the money to your PayPal account.
Step 1
Go to your PayPal account. Hover over "Add Funds" to bring up another menu. Click "Add Funds from MoneyPak."
Step 2
PayPal will redirect you to the MoneyPak website. When the page loads, two text boxes will appear. Turn over the MoneyPak card. Scratch off the silver strip to reveal the card's number. Type in the number in the "MoneyPak Number" text box. In the second text box, enter the characters that appear just above the box.
Step 3
Click "Continue." Complete the information page, which consists of personal information you must submit prior to completing the transfer. Click "Continue" to add the money to your PayPal account. After you see a confirmation screen, navigate back to your PayPal account and you should see the money available.
Tip
You can only add a maximum of $500 to a MoneyPak at most retailer locations, and you must load the card with cash.
