JCPenney Card Activation: Online & Phone Instructions
JCPenney allows you to activate your card online or by phone. The store card may need to be activated before you can use it. Your new card will come with a label on the front that supplies the general activation information you'll need to know before you can start shopping.
Phone Activation:
- Call the phone number listed on the label on the card from the phone you have associated with the account.
- Enter the account number on the front of the card.
- You may be asked to enter the last four digits of the Social Security number, the date of birth, or the mother's maiden name of the primary cardholder.
- Wait for the voice notification confirming that your card has been activated.
Online Activation:
- Click on Activate Your Card.
- You will have a choice to either enter your User ID and Password for an existing account or register and create an account to activate your card.
- Enter the account number on the front of your card and click "Next."
- You may be asked to enter the last four digits of the Social Security number, the date of birth, or the mother's maiden name of the primary cardholder.
Tip
If you have misplaced the label from your credit card with the activation instructions, contact JCPenney's customer support, and at the voice prompt, say, "Activate Card.'' You will be asked to supply the last four digits of the Social Security Number of the primary card holder before being referred to an agent.
