Chevron Gas Card Lost or Stolen? Immediate Reporting Steps
Chevron gas cards are popular for their convenience at the pump; in addition, some Chevron gas cards offer gas discounts and other special incentives. Few things make us worry as much as a lost or stolen credit card, whether it's a bank card, a department store card or a gas card. If your Chevron gas card is lost or stolen, report it immediately to the company to protect yourself from unauthorized charges.
Step 1
Contact the Chevron gas card customer service center at (800) 243-8766. The center's hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern time. The department is open Saturday and Sunday between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. Eastern time.
Step 2
Tell a representative your Chevron gas card is lost or stolen. Ask the representative to cancel it immediately and issue you a new card.
Step 3
Ask the representative to double-check to see if your card has been used since it went missing. Find out if you are responsible for any unauthorized charges if they exist.
Tip
If the customer service center is closed when you realize the card is stolen, log in to your online account management center and send a message by accessing the "Message Center" tab. This could prevent you from being held responsible for any unauthorized charges, because the message is stamped with the date and time. Contact the center immediately when they open.
If your card was stolen and you have a suspect, report the person to authorities.
