Library Books Get a New Home Online
What happens to a library’s books when it’s finally time to close it’s doors? Marygrove College in Detroit, a small Roman Catholic institution, helps us answer that question. The private college decided last year to close it’s door but needed to decide what to do with its books. While selling and donating were options, they would have netted them a loss or have been too expensive respectively.
Luckily for the college, the Internet Archive, the non-profit company behind the Wayback Machine, helped give these books new life.
