Canara Robeco Mutual Fund Changes: Updated Fund List & Re-categorization Explained
You must be wondering why some funds have been renamed and why some of them have been re-categorized.
The reason is simple.
The Security Exchange Board of India has come up with certain guidelines in order to make the process of investing easier for retail investors.
Mutual fund companies have thus renamed and re-categorized their funds in adherence to this instruction.
SEBI has prescribed that every fund company can have only one fund offering under each category.

What should you do if the fund has been renamed and re-categorized?
1. If it has been renamed
If your fund has only been renamed, you need not worry. You may stay invested as you were before.
2. If it has been re-categorized
If your fund has been re-categorized, you need to pay attention.
This means you will have to change your investment strategy to keep in sync with the characteristics of the new category and mostly modify your investments.
3. If it has been merged
If the fund has been merged, the Asset Management Company will take care of it. You need not change your investment policy.
