Lowe's Discounts & Savings: Maximize Your Home Improvement Budget
If you're taking on a home improvement project and shopping at a Lowe's home improvement store for supplies, you can find numerous discounts to save a little money. Discounts at Lowe's can go toward both in-store and online purchases.
Group Discounts
Lowe's offers certain groups of people discounts throughout the year. Lowe's employees get a 10 percent discount on all purchases they make for themselves, their dependents or to give as gifts. All employees -- full-time, part-time and temporary -- receive this benefit from the first day on the job.
Military service members and retired veterans also receive a 10 percent military discount any day of the year. To qualify for the military discount, you must be:
- Currently serving in the military
- An immediate family member of someone with a valid military ID
- A veteran receiving Veterans Affairs benefits
The military discount is only good for in-store purchases and it cannot be used for gift cards, previous purchases or combined with other discounts. You'll have to show a valid military ID or Veteran Identification Card at the time of purchase.
Tip
All veterans, even those not receiving VA benefits, can receive a 10 percent discount on Memorial Day, 4th of July and Veterans Day. To make a purchase, you'll need to show a valid Form DD214 or other proof of service.
Price Match
If you find a better price on a certain item at another store, bring in that other store's ad and Lowe's will match the price and give you a 10 percent discount. If another retailer offers a percentage-off discount, Lowe's will match that discount if you bring in the ad.
Buy in Bulk
If you're a professional contractor, you can take advantage of Lowe's ProServices to receive a discount. Lowe's offers Contractor Packs for smaller items and Volume Discount Pricing for larger items. With both programs, Lowe's gives you a discount for buying in bulk. The exact discount varies depending on the item and how much you buy, but generally falls between 10 and 20 percent.
Lowe's Credit Card
When you sign up for a Lowe's credit card, you often receive discounts. In 2015, for example, new card users could choose between 5 percent off every purchase, no interest for six months for a purchase over $299, or 10 percent off the first purchase on the card.
Lowe's Program for REALTORS
If you're a member of the National Association of REALTORS, the Lowe's Program for REALTORS provides you with numerous discounts including:
- 5 percent discount on Lowe's gift cards
- 10 percent off electronic coupons to send to your clients
- Special discounts throughout the year available only to Lowe's Program for REALTORS agents and clients
Sign up for the program via the Lowe's Program for REALTORS website and have your National Realtor Database System number handy when registering.
Tip
Like other retailers, Lowe's also offers discounts in its weekly ad, which you can find in many Sunday newspapers and in every Lowe's store. You also can access current promotions via the "Savings" tab on the Lowe's website or by using discount websites such as Retail Me Not and Brad's Deals.
