Visa PIN Management: How to Change or Reset Your PIN

If you have a debit card or credit card with a Visa logo, a personal identification number is linked to the card. Although you may use it more regularly for debit transactions, a PIN is needed to access cash from a credit card. There are various options available for changing your PIN. If you don't know the PIN, you'll need to contact the credit card issuer or visit the local issuing bank in person.
Phone Requests
Your credit card issuer is the bank offering the Visa card. The name of the bank generally appears on the front on the card. You'll typically find the phone number on the back of the card in small print. You can call the number on the back of the card and follow the prompts to change your PIN. You'll need to confirm you are the account holder by verifying your identity. In addition to providing your personal information, you may need to answer security questions.
Branch and ATM Changes
If your Visa card was issued by a local bank, you may be able to visit a branch to change your PIN in person. Some banks, such as Bank of America and Wells Fargo, allow you to change your PIN at the bank's automated teller machines. Changing your PIN is generally displayed under "More Options."
