New CRM API: Integrate CRM with Any System for Enhanced Efficiency
New CRM API Provides Additional Functionality, Increased Security and Faster Transactions
Our new CRM API (Application Programming Interface) allows your software developers to interface our CRM into just about any other system or application you use. This might include your accounting software, web site, sales order system, or any other in-house applications. The interface lets you share data between your systems and the CRM, streamlining your business processes.
What’s Changed in the New CRM API
The new CRM API Version 4 takes our CRM to integration to the next level, giving you additional functionality, increased security and faster transactions.
The new features include:
- Field set is driven dynamically from the data dictionary allowing customers to access their additional custom fields and custom objects
- Authentication can be set up at a user level instead of company level, allowing different users or applications to be logged separately
- Improved logging with visibility determined by user and graphical reporting of overall usage
- Email alerts can be configured to notify users when their API limit has been reached, or partially reached
- OAuth 2 authentication for increased security
- Improved error reporting
- Faster execution
The CRM API version 4.0 is a RESTful (Representational State Transfer) API allowing you to make requests to Create, Read, Update and Delete records in your CRM. The API v4.0 accepts requests, or calls, in JSON format.
What Does API Stand For?
API is the acronym for Application Programming Interface. APIs are used to pass data back and forth between two computer systems programmatically. This means that when you do something in one system the data is replicated in another that is linked through the interface.
What’s an API Call?
An API call is the individual interaction between the two applications made through the API when a request for data is made from one system to the other. Call levels are normally limited to control the level of traffic following through the API and are determined by your CRM price plan. See CRM Features for details of the Really Simple Systems API call limits.
Version 4 of the API is now available to all customers in all payment plans, including the Free CRM.
